The ability to articulate complex thought clearly, to listen with genuine attention, and to make one's reasoning intelligible and compelling to diverse audiences. Two equally important dimensions: expression (rendering complex thought in accessible language) and reception (genuinely listening).
Without It
The person reasons beautifully in private but is incoherent or intimidating in public. Their intellectual sovereignty benefits only themselves.
